In his career, Mr. Davis has has worked as a machine operator, business owner, and designer.  He is very familiar with metal cutting lasers, CNC punching, milling, press brake operation, lathe work and stereo lithographic apparatus (SLA / SLS).

He started writing the monthly column "Precision Matters" for the Fabricator® Magazine in 2002, for which the Fabricators and Manufacturing Association presented him with their "Best Technical Articles" award.

His book "Wise Business Words" is based on the first 3 years of those columns.  Based on his experience as a business owner, the book is written for anyone in the job shop industry who is struggling with organization, cash flow, staffing, and planning.
